I've asked before on here about past members of O.L. Division back in the late 60's, but never had anyone respond. I spent many hours off and on trying to track down one William P. Hargett, Jr. who was my dear friend, and drinking buddy. I guess however, I'm a few years too late in making contact. My latest search this week revealed that my friend and shipmate passed away in 1998, just ten days after his 53rd birthday. I have not been able to contact/find his relatives or any information on the cause. All I can offer here for anyone who may have known him is that he had his Military funeral and is interred at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. RIP my friend.

Art S.   I've located a copy of William Hargett's obituary which I will add to the Association's website page of "Recent Notices of Deceased Members".

It's always sad when we hear of the passing of a friend.

Best Regards, Art T.

PS:  I'm slowly-but-surely working on getting some of your recent Italy trip pictures ready for posting as well.

This was my dad. Every Memorial Day I punch in his name and ship to see what pops up and this is what I found today. Does my mom know you let me know? My dad had just made plans to come see me and his grand daughter in California 3 weeks before he passed.

Tim.... "Thanks" for the info. You have now been added to the CLG4 Crew Roster.

As hard as it may seem to believe, we don't actually have a complete "roster" of all the crew members of the Little Rock! We rely on people such as yourself to help us fill in the blanks!

Let me know if you know of any other "missing" shipmates.

For our non-published database we would like to add all your data to it. Please note that we DO NOT share this information with anyone. Here's the info that we maintain in the database:

Last Name: _____
First Name: _____
Initial: _____
Nickname: _____
Street Address: _____
City: _____
State: _____
Zip: _____
Phone: _____
Dates on Board: _____
Division: _____
Rate/Rank: _____
Duty/Assignment: _____
Spouse: _____
Email: _____

If you feel you would like to have your missing data added to the database, let me know via return email. Here's my address: artillery@innernet.net.

You also might want to consider membership in the USS Little Rock Association. You can find the details regarding membership at the bottom of the Association's website home page .

Thanks again for the info...
