Did you blow the whistle on the 1MC? Did anyone ever do any sweeping when the announcement was made for sweepers to man your brooms? How many different announcements were there? I’d like to start with my favorite 1MC announcement. “GANGBUSTER, GANGBUSTER, GANGBUSTER! – What were the officers up to? Anyone care to take guess?

Entering or leaving a port, we had Honors to Port(starbord) Followed by hand salute. This was for foreign Naval vessels or government installations.
