Hi Art:
I’m impressed with your energy to tackle another web project.
It might be of interest to build a list of the music that the Sixth Fleet Band and Choir performed in the early 70s. I recall that Dixieland and Glenn Miller tunes tended to receive the most applause from the Europeans.
I was impressed that the guys in the band were able to listen to current popular songs and score “head charts” of the music for all the band instruments.
I’ll start the process and list some that I recall.
“Evil Ways” -- Stage Band, Rock Group
“Jesus Christ, Superstar” – Stage Band
“Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” – Singers
“Spinning Wheel” – Stage Band, Rock Group, Singers
“Shaft” – Rock Group, Stage Band
“Move Over” – Rock Group (a Diana Peterson vocals special)
“When The Saints Go Marching In” – Dixieland Group
“South Rampart Street Parade” – Dixieland Group with the Flappers Group
“Get It On” – Stage Band, Rock Group
“Lida Rose” – Barbershop
