Hi, I'm Jackie and was a singer/dancer in the 6th Fleet Music Show .... husband Harry Deffenbaugh was show photographer 1972-75 When we did a show in Greece, the show was video'd by the military .... anyone have a clue if that video can be found? I remember we were also video'd for a commercial on the local TV station |

Jackie,
Thanks for the note. And also for the question regarding the films showing the 6th Fleet Singers that the Navy might have archived (somewhere!) Hopefully someone will have some info on this.
I'd like to know if you can identify any of the ladies in the photo you referred to previously.
(Here's the link to the Message Board article and pictures for those who might be interested.)
On my list of "Things to do in 2011" is to put together a web page for the 6th Fleet Singers (and Band). To that end I will be looking for any photos that would be suitable for the web site. If Harry happens to have any that would be usable, please ask him to feel free to contact be directly.
Thanks again,

Music Show Picture -- I'll start the ID process -- I believe that's Joy McCarron (sp?) on the left.

The picture is the Sixthfleet band and singers. The conductor is Chief Charles Cardwell. The location is the Bow of the LittleRock and the location looks like Toulon France. I was a member of the Band, and was the first conductor of the Sixth Fleet Singers, and was the founder of the group for Admiral Gerald Miller.

Hi Jon: I do not remember the occasion for the television gig and it could be Toulon. That’s Chief Cardwell for sure conducting and Chief Sisson is the lead singer behind the microphone poles. I have it listed on board USS Springfield (CLG 7) – likely Harry’s photographic work. This next photo should be easy for you to finger the players.
